"Naomi won her semi final match 6-3,6-3 against the American Julie Cohen at the $25k in Puebla Mexico this morning. In tomorrows final she will play Ajla Tomljanovic of Croatia before flying to Cuba with Dave and Roxanne Sammel for the $10k next week."
Well done Naomi - Tomljanovic is the current junior no. 6
That's absolutely tremendous by Naomi, such results in her first tournament back must be even beyond her wildest dreams. She hasn't even dropped a set !
It looks possible once basically fit that she has used extra weeks to really finetune her game, almost like most folks' off season & pre new season prep and is so ready now just to play tennis.
I see she does intend to play next week's 10K and no doubt the following one that she is down for, basically to play through into 2010 with little break which is understandable. She has really had her pre-season.
Final opponent is a 16 yo Croatian, as has been said current World Junior No 6, and with clearly a really bright future in the game, but wouldn't it bring a great ending to the week and certainly launch Naomi to a clear new CH ( she's very probably already going to a CH just for reaching the final ) and to GB no 7 in Monday week's ranking if she could win the whole darn thing.
F : Naomi Broady WR 443 v Ajla Tomljanovic ( CRO ) WR 352

Am I the only one that finds it slightly weird that her own website refers to her by surname in its headlines? Surely she's on first name terms with her family?
