How wrong can you be - well done Andy for finishing that off finally. 21 aces - excellent but what will he have left for tomorrow after such a late night?
Andy Very good serving got him through this, from what I saw.
I got in from a very fraught committee meeting at 11.15 expecting to have missed it all, so was surprised it was just in the middle of the second set. The previous matches must have run very late, I assume. By the end I only just had the energy to stagger upstairs to bed.
Something really ought to be done about the ridiculous scheduling at two of the slams and some of the Masters. Expecting anybody to play until nearly 2 in the morning and then again at about 5pm the next day, against top-class opposition, is madness. And it surely can't be for the benefit of the spectators - by the end of the match the stadium was nearly empty. With possibly some way to travel home, and also possibly having to get up for work the next morning, who could blame them.

Agreed. Yesterday was a public holiday in France so there was no need - from the fans' point of view - to run a late evening session. But the Paris Masters is increasingly trying to maximise its revenue by adding to the number of sessions in the week, so that it can sell the same seat several times on the same day.
The fact Murray got on court so late was partly due to the fact that a lot of the matches on his court went to three sets, and some of them, especially Nadal/Almagro, went three hours, and even the straight sets wins were not over and done with inside an hour.
He couldn't even have been shifted out onto the other court because he still would have been getting on court at roughly the same time, so there was no choice but for him to start as late as he did, unless he was going to have to play twice today which obviously no-one wants to see.
The only real option would have been to put one of the matches onto the non-televised court, which again would have caused lots of complaints from people who thus couldn't see the match, and if you had bought tickets for the night session and suddenly found that you were only going to see one match rather than the two you paid for, you would be very upset about it.
The only real thing that they should have done is push Murray's match today to later and put it after one of the doubles matches, if not both of them out on court one, but that would mean that Murray would end up out on the evening session for every match this week.
It will be interesting to see what time they finish on centre court today as they have put together the same schedule. If it ends up way after midnight again then it is something that they have to look at but if it ends beforehand, yesterday could be explained bu an abnormal number of long matches on the show court (Davy/Soder are into a 3rd set to start with today).
Anyway, it was a good win for Murray even though he was not at his best but he found a way to get through the final set TB. Blake played well and Murray was below his best level which made it a close match but Murray just did enough in the TB to get the win, which is good to see he is still winning matches without playing too well.
