Boys: Evert American ITF Junior Circuit - Grade 4 (Week 45)

The highlight here is the return to action of Nick Jones, who was one of the top ranked 1992 boys at the start of the year (just outside 200), but hasn't played since April.

R1 (L64)

Mikaiah Vea (USA) v Damian Gryzelko (GBR)
Nick Jones (GBR) v Terrell Celestine (USA)

Very impressive from Nick. Normally players coming back after several months out struggle to close out tight matches, but he has won three in a row on tiebreaks, two going the full distance. His next match looks tough though, against someone who beat John Morrissey in US Open qualifying and reached the quarters of last week's Grade 2 event. Nick has also reached the doubles quarters along with the strong Finn Micke Kontinen (Henri's brother)

Another superb win for Nick featuring a tiebreak, earning him a crack at his doubles partner. Kontinen is ranked 59, having won a Grade 1 event this year, so it is puzzling that he should be playing a Grade 4.

SF

(1) Micke Kontinen (FIN) v Nick Jones

Doubles Final
