Good to see Murray get the win despite not playing at his best and he still looks to be feeling his way back.
Montanes next shouldn't be any problem at all and it would be good to see him win this event which he really should be doing, although Davydenko in the final may not be that easy for him.
I only saw the 3rd set, but definitely was far from his best there, as FD says there must be a case of feeling his way back.
Early on in that final set I thought Mayer loooked the better player.
Didn't see any problems with his back which was good but his movement off the mark and actually to the ball ( his feet didn't seem in the right place at times which is unlike him ) has been much better.
Two or three pretty horendous shouldered forehands and just a general lack of zip, but hopefully it'll come over the rest of the week and more so in Paris.
Glad he's won and I hope this match has been the workout he needed to get him back into the swing of things. Not easy to watch, especially the 2nd set, where Andy lost concentration and played some very sloppy points. He toughed it out in the 3rd, but there are some dangerous opponents ahead if/when he gets past Montañés.
