Good start for the Brits to get off to an opening win which they needed to do if they were to have any chance of winning the title here as the Kazakhs are their easiest opponents.

Signs of promise again from Laura by taking a set off a top player but just needs to finish these matches off which hopefully will come as she gains experience and gets older.

Murray's match looked to be comfortable but then nothing else would be expected and an easyish start to the year.

Good for them to tough out the match tiebreak to get the win on the board and hopefully it won't be the last win of the event for them.
