Excellent experience for Laura. Where else will she get 3 "competitive" matches against top 60 opposition in a week?
She's not going to be expected to win any of them so can really only gain from the tournament - unless she gets double-bagelled in every match I suppose!
I see the article mentions Andy will be going into the Aus Open without a competitive match unless he requests a WC for Sydney for the week before ( which I think is pretty unlikely and as previously discussed would not effect his no 5 Aus Open seeding )
I imagine then that Andy will be playing at least his singles matches in the Hopman Cup in very competitive mode.
I just had a look at the media pack for the tournament, and it seem the GB player with the best singles record is Sarah Loosemore. We always were good at irony!
