Rule one in supporting tennis players.
Always write off their chances and they respond with a win.

Lucy has really stepped up firstly during the late summer, when she won a couple of low grade tournaments, and especially this week. Previously she had no wins over any players in the top 200 AFAICS, but now she beats 3 in a row, culminating in a top tenner. As a result she will become the top ranked 1993 girl, though Natalie may have something to say about that next week.

According to her local paper (The Oxford Mail) in September: " Next week, Brown takes a big step in her tennis career moving to Marbella, Spain, to base herself training at the Puento Romano Club with Win Tennis." Perhaps that move has helped her to kick on.

Was the dream Lucy's win or your streak in the street?

The win, of course.smile

But on a serious note, I believe after knocking out the wr8, she can win the whole thing now. Yes, her opponent is playing well, but does anyone know what level all those wins were at? Has the Chinese girl won a grade 2 before, or is it her first final as well?

One step to far for Lucy

She lost 4-6 7-6(1) 6-0. Great effort though!
