Brits in world top 100s - singles and doubles

It must now be recorded that as at 08/05/23 we have no women singles players in the top 100.

Emma drops 120 points from a pretty decent Madrid L16 last year ( beat Martincova and Kostyuk ) and thus falls from WR 85 to WR 103.

After magnificent Nottingham we have one woman back in the singles top 100 and a third woman into the doubles top 100.

In singles Katie B's title lifts her 49 places from WR 126 to a new CH of WR 77

In doubles Harriet's RU with Heather lifts her 17 places from WR 108 to a new CH of WR 91.

Harriet drops back out of the doubles top 100. Down 18 places to WR 109. Her Eastbourne R2/QF 100 points with Heather last year drop off before they play together there again this year.

Shot up to 18 today, Men are unchanged    women, Jodie and Katie B in singles and Alicia  Olivia,  Naiktha,  Maia and Harriet in doubles.

18 on 17.07.23 (4 MS , 7 MD, 2WS, 5 WD.

Indy  hope you don't mind me butting in on this thread, I am excited at such a bump up for the women.

No problem at all      4 additional.women !!

That total of 18 equals the thread record recorded in two weeks late last year, 31.10.22 and 14.11 22

31.10 & 14.11.22 = 18 ( 4 MS, 8 MD, 2 WS, 4 WD )

So then like now, 6 singles and 12 doubles players in the top 100, though we now have 5 rather than 4 in women's doubles. I don't know when we last ( if at all ) had 5 in the women's doubles top 100

So here is a new game - will we get 20 players in top 100 places across the singles and doubles/ men and women, before we get 20 men in the top 500 singles??!

Anyone want to challenge Bob on that one?!

Hmm, Harriet is in the top 100 doubles by just 40 points, and Ali/Freya are 105 points behind the WR100. It'll take good performances from all three to get/keep them in the top 100.
Harriet has 180 points to defend from Granby in August, but has a couple of one-pointers so can pick up points. Freya and ALi have a lowest counter of 42 points, but also have points dropping in August.

I suspect the men will win this one.

Not with all the 500-700 hopefuls locked in Jaggy's closet, they won't. biggrinbiggrin

One in, one out.

Jodie's WTA 125 Stanford QF sees her rise 5 places from WR 101 to WR 96 so back into the singles top 100.

In doubles Harriet drops 1 place from WR 100 to WR 101. She will be more definitively out of the top 100 next week when she drops 180 (net 179) points.
