A strong British presence here, with several seeds (though the Czech website does not indicate information about exact seedings) and a return to Junior action for Liam Broady after a spell playing French money tournaments.

A good day in singles where we are assured of a semi-finalist, and hence good points, but all interest in the doubles has evaporated

R3

(7) Tom Allen (GBR) d. Maik Ulrich (GER) 6-1 6-3
(3) Jack Carpenter (GBR) d. (13) Thomas Bertsch (GER) 6-4 6-3
George Morgan (GBR) d. (11) Leonard Stakhovsky (UKR) 2-6 6-1 6-3

QF

Marco Cecchinato (ITA) v (7) Tom Allen (GBR)
(3) Jack Carpenter (GBR) v George Morgan (GBR)

Splendid news from Prague, as Tom's win guarantees a finalist

QF

(7) Tom Allen (GBR) d. Marco Cecchinato (ITA) 6-3 6-1
George Morgan (GBR) d. (3) Jack Carpenter (GBR) 6-3 7-5

SF

(7) Tom Allen (GBR) v George Morgan (GBR)

If Tom wins he will be on the cusp of the top 100 while a win for George takes him into the top 200

You're right, though I think I would have picked Tom to win, with his clay court record. Looks like George has moved up a gear or two lately, with his success at the European Juniors U16, and pleasing to see that he has done so on clay,

SF

George Morgan (GBR) d. (7) Tom Allen (GBR) 6-1 6-3

Final

George Morgan (GBR)  v (2) Peter Heller (GER)

The German is ranked 78, won his last tournament and has compiled a 31-8 record this year, mainly on clay, and beat George on carpet at the Bavarian Junior open in February

Hmmm...really tough match then but he has nothing to lose. Where will this tourny bump his ranking up to?

Not being familiar with the Juniors ranking system I am probably talking rubbish but I think a win would take him to about 150.

Runner up around 180

Smidster's ranking estimate is good - George will move from 327 to around 180, and as he has no points to defend this year plus is below the allowed quota of 6 scoring tournaments there's plenty of scope for further improvement this year.
