RE: US Open - Round 2: Andy vs Paul Capdeville (CHI)

Murray up 6-2, 1-4

Capdeville playing some nice stuff though in set 2, Murray making a lot of errors. McEnroe thinks that Capdeville isn't particularly surprised at what he's getting from Murray and actually playing his sort of game but just doing it better

Murray needs to bring Capdeville to the net a little more, he's a solid volleyer but doesn't do that much with the ball

Murray now 5-2 down in the 2nd set.

Looking a little flat, he's really taken his foot off the gas in this set and its quite windy which isn't helping. After set 1 I thought this would be routine for Murray, he was cruising and seemed to have an answer for whatever Capdeville came up with

Murray comes out with a white cap and it seems to make the difference with a very comfortable hold.

He's making Capdeville serve it out

Not enjoying this match. Andy really doesn't seem to be at his best, making too many errors and making all the predictions of an easy 3 set win look a bit disrespectful of Capdeville's capabilities. Hopefully Andy can take the next game and turn this set round. Currently 62 35.

He's gone a break up in the third set now, but that second set was one of the most disappointing sets I've seen Murray play.

At least he seems to be getting a poor performance out of the way against someone like Capdeville, who in all due respect, isn't going to beat Murray whatever he does, rather than against a tougher opponent in a later round.

Think dropping the set may be the wake-up call for Murray and he gets on with winning the next two sets comfortably.

Why didn't Murray do this in the last set?

Oh well...looks like he just fancied entertaining the crowd on Ashe for a bit longer after the first two matches were over pretty quickly.

Murray has upped the intensity and taken charge, playing with more urgency in this set. Capdeville is feeling it too and making a few more errors, not hitting those lines any more.

6-2, 3-6, 5-0
