Week 33 - Cincinnati Masters (ATP 1000 Series) - R3: Andy vs Radek Stepanek

Second on court after Federer vs. Ferrer, so probably on around 1900 UK time.

Murray and Stepanek have met twice before, with Murray winning both matches and has never dropped a set to him.

Would expect that to continue today with a similar kind of score to the Almagro match.

I have seen nothing to sugest that a 22 yr old Murray cannot do what a 18yr old Murray has previously done.

Murray to win 5 & 3

It would appear that both Murray and Federer have become Spanish!!!

I protest! Spain already has enough players without pinching others!

Eeeeeek!

I have just seen the first few games of the Federer match. It is very, very windy. Shades of Indian Wells - erm.gif

Edit - on second thoughts I suppose it is just as likely to affect Steps as Andy. No Nadal on the other side of the net this time.

Andy seems to be more or less cruising to victory over Ugly Mug at the moment:  6-4 2-0. smile

Well done, Andy, 6-4 6-1 thumbsup.gif

It could easily have been a bagel in the second set, Andy had match point 4 times on Step's serve, but the Czech kept bouncing back.

(Pun intended. Yes, I know, I'm not as good as Steven. coat.gif)

Bit of a strange match really. Decent contest between them in the first set, but once Murray broke to win the set (having failed to serve out at 5-3), Stepanek's level just totally fell away, and Murray's dropped as well.

Still, a very straightforward win and he got the job done quickly, which he needed to do if he wants to win back to back events.
