The full title of this event is the Tennis Europe Nations Challenge by Head. It is effectively equivalent to the European Summer Cups U14/U16/U18 featured in another thread, with qualifying taking place this week, for finals in early August.
We have teams in both the Boys and Girls event. The score above relates to the Boys event, where we are in a round robin group of 4 in Rakovnik (Czech Republic) along with Cyprus Slovenia and Estonia.
Lucas Taylor lost the number 1 clash 6-0 6-1 Ross Wilson won the second singles 6-2 6-2 Ross combined with Vincent Gillespie to win the doubles 7-6 6-0
Tomorrow they play Slovenia
The girls are in the Netherlands and were playing the host nation today. Their squad is Freya Christie, Lara Rush and Maia Lumsden
Lucas and Freya won the LTA Winter Grand Prix U12 titles earlier in the year.
I don't follow the U12s closely, but on the basis that both GBR teams topped their groups and are playing the nation which finished second in the other group at the same venue, then I would say yes. We failed to qualify for either final last year though.
The final rounds have proved tough, especially for the girls. The format is 2 round-robin groups of four, with the top two in each progressing to the semis. The boys have won 1 and lost 1, so progress depends on them winning the third match, but the girls are out of it having lost twice
