The first of two weeks here, sees a large British contingent, with 1993 boys James Ireland and Robert Carter amongst the seeds, and 1995 boy Clay Crawford aiming to build on the impressive start to his junior career.
The first round was completed today, with Clay Crawford giving a w/o. There was a tight contest between James Ireland and Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy student Tom Gutteridge - the former shading three 7-5 sets. All the results on the above link.
Robert Carter (7) who plays number 1 seed Havaj (3) Robin Goodman who will play a Pakistani WC Lloyd Grasspool (who beat the German number 5 seed) will play 4th seed Brit James Ireland Qualifier Jonathan Brooklyn (who beat 2nd seed Westgate in R2) will play 6th seed Frenchman
Wow, didn't know Gutteridge was playing over in Spain now. I played him in a student competition last year. He beat me pretty comfortably but I'm surprised his taking it that seriously. He must be younger than he looked!

Tom's 17 later this month, and there are photos of all the current academy members here:
The singles resolves into a couple of Anglo-French semis, with both French boys in ominously good form, yet to drop a set in singles or doubles
