RE: Wimbledon - Quarter Final : Andy vs Juan Carlos Ferrero

Splitting Hewitt and Murray up is certainly good news for the people in the queue. It's a good job we give so many tickets to z-list royals and tennis club types or I suspect there would be more Hewitt fans attending a Murray-Hewitt semi!

furious.gif I am furious, I missed out on Centre Court by about 10 places, what makes it worse is that yesterday I was told by Greenline that it would only take 1h 10m to get to Victoria, when in fact it ended up taking closer to 2 hours.

Had I got the train as I'd originally planned I would've certainly got here a bit earlier, and may have just made the cut for Centre Court...

My birthday hasn't got off to a great start. smile.gif

Unlucky but if you are on Court 1 you will probably see the better matches.

You never know, you might be able to swap the ticket. There may be some Americans and Aussies floating around who had snapped up CC tickets and might now prefer to watch Hewitt-Roddick on 1.

I agree that they will probably be the better matches, but I would really like to see Murray hopefully reach his first Wimbledon Semi-Final. Although, I'd almost forgotten that barring injury, I'll see him in November at the O2.

Unlike last year, I didn't ask to see a map of court and just accepted the first ticket I was given.

I'm on the East Open Stand, Level 2, Gangway 8, Row D, Seat 014, could someone with access to a map of the court possibly let me know if this is a good seat, as if I'm going to try to trade, I want to be honest about what the seat is like.

Gangway 8 on Court 1 is right at the front (i.e. row D would be 4 rows from courtside), but wouldn't that be on level 1 not level 2 (?)

East Open Stand level 2 sounds like a position on Centre Court, not Court 1.

Update: Just been checking, possibly there isn't a level 1 on Court 1 - if it is a Court 1 ticket, then gangway 8 is definitely right at the front.

It is Court 1, there's a map of it in the programme, and there aren't any Level 1 seats, but I don't know exactly where my seat will be, but I reckon near the corner of the court. Anyway, right now I'm sitting courtside on Court 18, and will see a bit of Bjorkman / Krajicek v. Petchey / Rusedski starting at 12 noon.

Happy Birthday, Stew.

I suggest you target any fans wearing the Aussie colours - they would want Court 1 tickets!

Mad, I was looking for Aussies with blue wristbands before the grounds opened at 10:30, but they all had silver like me, and I even saw some with bronze court 2 wristbands. If I'm honest, I was tempted to approach to see if they would buy my ticket so I could make some profit, but I thought that would make of as bad as the touts.

Right now I'm stationed on Court 18, and after seeing a bit of the oldies I'm looking forward to cheering on Haas, and them seeing Hewitt v. Roddick, which I honestly think could be the best match of the round.

I think you could be right about Hewitt v Roddick. There's always chance some Feddie fans will only stay for the first match on Centre, though you'd probably need to get in the resale queue now to have any chance, and that seems like a waste of time you could use watching tennis!

What do people reckon with regards to the channel that this will be on? I can't imagine it won't be on BBC1, but i've a horrid feeling it might go on two? That would really mess me up with regards to recording on sky+

Federer won in straights, Haas 2 sets to 1 up.

Andy 3-2*

Andy *4-4. The match is getting more interesting but, for the most part, the quality has been poor so far.
