Wildcards for Wimbledon have been announced with qualifying starting today. Jessica Ren is unfortunately an absentee, but there is a welcome return to action for Amy Askew.

I didn't expect a qualifier here, but thought that one or two would have pulled off an upset to make final qualifying, so disappointing.

Some fairly tough draws for our best hopes. Jos plays one of the tournament favourites, but Sloane has not played since Roland Garros, so she may be able to catch her before she gets into her stride. Heather is in arguably the least strong quarter of the draw, as she is seeded to meet Tomljanovic (who she beat narrowly at Roehampton) then Ana Bogdan (no great record on grass), though there are one or two other players in the section who could cause her trouble, including her opening opponent.
