Really easy all week as expected from Andy - didn't play his best tennis but he didn't need to as he takes the title without dropping the set and only dropping serve twice.

First British winner at Queens since the dawn of time. winner.gif

YES Get in there Murray. I'm in heaven. A british winner at Queens. Made my weekend. Now for Wimbledon. Can't wait.

More impressive in that 2nd set. I think Blake could be a very difficult opponent for Andy if James was on top form. But for every fantastic forehand, there were several wild ones today, so it was comfortable for Murray. I liked the way Andy tried to mix up his 2nd serves. James was being aggressive on the return so Andy sliced a few into his forehand and was rewarded. Another thing I noticed was Murray deliberately looking to wrong-foot James, going back behind him on several occasions and that worked well.

Well done Andy. Never in doubt IMO.

If he can serve as well as he has done this week and mix up his game (passive / attacking) styles and just be as positive as possible then he will have a great Wimbledon.

As for winning it...well im sure Nadal and Roger will have some input into that !

For sure. But if Andy can reach the semis there then that will be another high for him. Right now it's just fab to have a Brit winning one of the big grass events.

That is some size cup!

I was so nervous, I think I'll enjoy watching the recording, knowing the result, much better!

Nole rofl.gif Well done, Tommy! Now there's a dangerous floater at Wimbledon. I hope Nole draws him there as well. . . evileye.gif

I'll say - I have this theory that trophy size is inversely proportional to tournament prestige.

Still, he can probably afford to build an extension to house it.

Good win for Murray and great to see him claim a grass court title.

Haven't seen the match yet but hopefully I'll get around to watching it later.

Well, considering it's probably the 2nd most prestigeous grass court tournament behind Wimbledon ( if not its strongest field this week ), I'd hate to see the trophies for lesser events  biggrin

A very good week for Andy. Didn't have to beat anyone that we wouldnt expect him to beat but he did it all very efficiently and quite clinically at times.

He particularly seemed to be able to raise his game when it mattered in sets and indeed in individual games whenever his serve looked remotely threatened.

Loved how he said he was really nervous when he went to serve for the match. Err, that'll be the game he started with 2 booming aces and wrapped it up in no time at all. Keep showing these nerves !  smile

My personal Wimbledon odds against Andy winning the title have now shifted in slightly from 6/1 to 5/1.
