The final two wildcards have been announced:

7 Lucy Brown
8 Jocelyn Rae

Jos also entered Junior Wimbledon, but was not accepted because her ranking was too low to be an alternate. It looks like a W/C here and at junior Wimbledon will be her consolation for missing out on a qualifying wild card for the women's main draw.

I think throwing Katy Dunne in would be a much better choice.

Including Katy would make sense as a future talent, but I'd prefer to see her in qualifying at this stage, given she struggled in her last two tournaments. Jo Henderson is the one I am most surprised to see not included, as she is a 1994 girl who has consistently been winning matches this year.

I presume so as well. Laura Slater has replaced Jess as a WC as well. Here is the main draw's match-ups involving British players:

R1 (L64)

(WC) Daniela Borthwick (GBR) v (LL) Christina Mathis (AUT)
Polina Leykina (RUS) v (WC) Manisha Foster (GBR)
(WC) Lucy Brown (GBR) v (16) Zsofia Susanyi (HUN)
(9) Heather Watson (GBR) v Alekandra Granillo (MEX)
(WC) Jennifer Ren (GBR) v (LL) Brooke Bolender (USA)
(LL) Manisha Chowdhury (GBR) v Vivien Juhaskova (SVK)
(WC) Laura Slater (GBR) v (6) Ajla Tomljanovic (CRO)
(WC) Samantha Vickers (GBR) v Chantal Skamlova (SVK)
Ilinca Stoica (ROU) v (WC) Nicola George (GBR)
Kyra Shroff (IND) v (Q) Laura Deigman (GBR)
Malou Ejdesgaard (DEN) v (Q) Ruth Seaborne (GBR)
(SE) Tara Moore (GBR) v (11)  Daria Gavrilova (RUS)
(13) Jana Cepelova (SVK) v (WC) Alexandra Walker (GBR)
Sachie Ijizu (JPN) v (LL) Sabrina Stewart (GBR)
Hannah James (GBR) v Fatma al Nabhani (OMA)
Grace Sari Ysidora (INA) v (Q) Elisha Gabb (GBR)
(14) Beatice Capra (USA) v (Q) Roisin Mullins (GBR)
Stephanie Cornish (GBR) v (Q) Sally Peers (AUS)
Magda Linette (POL) v (Q) Lisa Whybourn (GBR)

Quite remarkable that with 19 Brits in the draw there are no all-British matches

Come on heather time to step up and the top british junior here.

Horrible draw for Tara but on grass she should win that one. I'm hoping that Tara goes on a big run in wimbledon juniors this year. if he game clicks she'll be there or there abouts

A good win today for Steph, whose section has opened up, but Heather and Tara are in stronger parts of the draw, with Mladenovic and Rogowska respectively lying in wait for the QFs if they can get past top 10 opposition tomorrow.
