RE: Messaging about Andy Murray

^^^

The comments that views are shared by others are not meant to come across as saying that anyone else's opinions don't matter and that my views are the only ones that count, but I can see how that could come across to other people.

If Murray hammered Federer in this years Wimbledon final I'd be delighted with the win and would definately give him a lot of praise for it. In fact, I think he's got a great chance of doing it this year, especially if Nadal is struggling with injury and Federer will either be so distraught at having lost the RG to Soderling or still celebrating finally winning the Grand Slam, and with Djokovic potentially out of form, and the likes of Nalbandian and Gasquet not playing who could take the title if they had a great week. (although Tsonga could be a serious threat as if he happens to be on form then there's not a lot of players who could stop him)

:re Murray favourite for the US Open... in the last 12 months on a hard court, Murray's result are:

Toronto SF's (Still hadn't found a way to beat Nadal at that point on a very slow court anyway)
Cincinnatti Champion
US Open Finalist (very few players win their first slam final)
Madrid Champion
Paris QF's (lost to an inspired Nalbandian, whose game matches up perfectly against Murray's in any case)
Doha Champion
Aussie Open R16 (illness may have been a factor, Verdasco played well, but a bit disappointing)
Rotterdam Champion
Indian Wells Finalist (partially beaten by the wind and first tournament back from injury)
Miami Champion

I'm not sure but I'd guess that he's got the most points of anyway on a hard court, and with that kind of record over 12 months, especially with the US Open being a faster court that will help him, Murray probably would be the person I'd have as favourite, with the only thing against him being the fact he's not won a slam.

He's got a great recent record against Djokovic and Federer anyway and seems to have figured out a way to beat him, which is great to see and one of his greatest strengths does seem to be being able to tactically outclass opponents.

I don't think FD should be taking the blame for my crimes.

I actually thought your last couple of posts were much more encouraging than some of the earlier ones!

I think the suggestion that I have something against Murray comes from the Djokovic match in Cincinatti where I seemed to be in disagreement with pretty much everyone else around that match, where I suggested that it was a poor match where neither player played that well, rather than the consensus view that Murray played a good match to frustrate Djokovic into making the errors.

Now that was an interesting thread!

From a personal point of view. I read about Andy in the media and via his own site (and on here).

This board though has developed into the best site online for lower player coverage through those who contribute to it. Often first with the results, about the only the hope of comments from someone who may have seen any of the matches featured in and so on. Its actually posted information that makes up a large percentage of the posts, not debate.

Indiana, I have to say here you seem to be having a go at FD for no particular reason, and as Kundalini said I think you are actually getting him and FD mixed up.

Everyone has an entitlement to their opinion whether negative or positive, and I enjoy reading everyones on here.

Yes, I am sorry I maybe did to an extent mix some stuff up between the two ( although I definitely disagreed with quite a lot from both ).  I did admit earlier that I may have got some mixed up.  A lot of stuff in the past is kind of a blur with me just thinking what ?

I have totally said that folk are entitled to their opinion and actively encouraged this. I normally truelly enjoy debate with these with different views. on things. I tried to make clear  ( but folk had maybe understandably given up reading by the time I made this absolutely cleart smile )   that my real problems were to me a question of more how that was expressed.

Anyway don't know what was up with me yesterday but I did labour it far too much and go on at far tooo great a length.

I promise to try and get back much much more to tennis and away from personalities.

So, my apologies to FD, kundalini and the board in general.
