2009 French Open (Roland-Garros) - R2: Andy vs Potito Starace

Second round for Andy, who is likely to play on Wednesday.

Starace won his opening match by retirement after losing a set.

He is currently ranked 104 and has never played Andy. Its pretty hard to see past a straight sets victory for Andy ehre.

Not the ideal time for Murray given how much he enjoys morning matches - that said, Starace is in the midst of a terrible year and even at his best, he shouldn't be able to trouble Murray too much.

The length of the match will depend on how long it takes Murray to wake up - as soon as he does, the match is his.

Weather bright, but much cooler than previous days. A fair bit of cloud cover but no rain expected - and a moderate breeze.

Andy has two bps but an unforced error by Andy, followed by a nice drop shot, sees them go by, and Starace holds for 2-1*

Confortable hold from Andy for 2-2 - he's doing nothing flashy at the moment but working Starace around easily enough when serving.

First bit of flair from Andy, chasing down a drop shot and playing a good winner to bring up break point - but Starace dominates the next point to bring it to deuce. Starace then nets to give Murray his fourth bp of the match.... and a nice backhand down the line earns the break.

Murray leads *3-2.

Muzza holds to 15 but it's all fairly low-key still. Starace's offering very little.

4-2*.

At last, some more competitive rallies. Starace just gets the better of them and holds to 30. Muzzabear leads *4-3.

Big serving from Andy and a very quick "jeu blanc". Murray leads *5-3.

I'm watching on france2.fr - I suspect that won't be available outside France though.

Unforced error from Potatohead gives Murray set point - and Muzza chases down a drop shot to take the set 6-3 (with two breaks).
