Madrid Masters 1000 - QF - Andy vs Juan Martin Del Potro

Andy takes on Potty who he leads 3 - 0 in head to head. Most recent win was in Miami in the Semis. Potty is at his highest ranking of 5.

They have only ever played once on clay, Andy won, but Potty did have to retire last year in Rome.

Will be close, but hopefully Andy can do it, Potty will be tired after 3 hours of playing! And i think he has doubles later. There were 11 breaks of serve in the game today!

Federer is well on the way to beating Blake and I would imagine to meeting the winner in the semis

Edited by Stircrazy to correct the spelling of Juan Martín Del Potro's name.

Some times you can only marvel with wonder at how the order of play is scheduled...

Murray and Del Potro were both on first today... so it's only logical to expect that they are last on tomorrow!!!

And it gets better... Nadal vs. Verdasco/Monaco is the other evening match... and of course, they are in the opposite half of the draw to Murray, meaning that either Nadal or Murray would be at a big disadvantage in the semi finals if they managed to win.

I usually allow 2 hours for matches on clay, so about 9 pm UK time maybe. I think the schedulers are trying to make sure Fed's more the rested of the two second half semi-finalists ...

Nadal has wrapped up a 6-4, 7-5 win over Verdasco (having been 4-0 down in the second set), so it shouldn't be too long before Murray is on

He's on now - watching on bet365 the place seems to be empty!

Anyone aware of a (free) live stream?  Doesn't seem to be available on Channelsurfing... hmm

Good hold to begin with from 15-40 down, but Del Potro did gift him that game with some bad errors.

You can register for free on http://www.betfair.com/ or http://www.bet365.com/home/default.asp? you will get all the Masters Series events on there as well as some regular tour events.

Thanks, wolf, but I was hoping for a site like Channelsurfing.  I don't expect you to understand my reservations, but I'm just not prepared to register/disclose any kind of personal details on a betting site, not even for the chance to watch Andy play for free.

Great sliding cross-court passing shot from Andy to break for 4-2.

He's doing plenty of sliding around at the moment - he needs the practice :)

You could create an email address just for signing up to things and not use it for anything personal.
