It's last chance saloon for any direct acceptances for Wimbledon, with Dave Thomson and Ahmed El Menshawy requiring semi-finals here probably, which is a big ask. However Ahmed's first opponent, though highly ranked, does not have much of a track record on clay.

As expected Ahmed took advantage of his higher ranked opponent's vulnerability, but Dave hasn't stayed around for the doubles after his early defeat
