RE: Monte-Carlo R3: Andy vs Fabio Fognini

10.30am start Friday, Andy dosen't seem to have liked playing early doors in the past, I think this match is far from won yet.

He's not really woken up yet, but they've traded breaks and it's now 3-3.

GSM Murray 7-6 6-4

Good effort, lets hope Nalby and Davydenko take 3 sets!

Murray wins 7-6(11), 6-4, with Fognini putting a very easy smash into the net on match point.

He didn't play that well, but he won, and a first clay court quarter final, despite the easy draw, is nothing to be ashamed of.

And the even better news is that Nalbandian and Davydenko are trading breaks and are at 4-4 in the first set, so they've got a long way to go and hopefully will tire each other out.

I'm glad he won, but he didn't play very impressively today from what I saw. Though his effort yesterday to get back from 5-0 down must have been impressive.

At least he wasn't on court for long this morning so should have plenty of engergy left to do battle again this afternoon, by which time I hope he's woken up a bit.

Well done so far Andy.

I was a bit worried when I saw that he had come out in "miserable git" mode and dropped his first service game, but he battled through.

Reached his aim of his first QF on clay. I can't, to be honest, see him beating either Nalby or Donkey on clay, but hey you never know.

Nalby seves out the second set at the second time of asking 7-5.

Third set time, such a shame.

Congrats on winning Andy, great to see you in 2 matches a day, but your QF is going to be extremely tough.

Its all uphill from her Muzza :D

They both must be getting pretty tired now.

Just passed the 2 hour thirty minute mark.
