Only seen the last half of the tiebreak and this set, but I have to wonder what Murray was playing to start with to be 5-0 down - was he trying to exclusively use the handle of the racket or something like that?
At least he won the opening set, but he isn't playing that well and will get destroyed if he plays like this tomorrow- and it looks like the rain delay is going to stop the match... which could be a good thing if they don't get back on today - the best chance he's got of beating Davy/Nalby is if they go at it for 3 hours tomorrow and then are too tired to play him later in the day.
Well dammit. Andy had just got going, now he'll have to start from cold again - and he didn't start too well from cold this afternoon!
Although, I have to say Fognini-of-the-flying-eyebrows (does he pluck them that shape, do you think?) was playing really well. Why does he suddenly have to produce, unusually, a consistent streak when Andy is in his section of the draw?
I think Andy deserves some credit for fighting back from 0-5. Plenty of players would have conceded the set and mentally prepared themselves for the start of the second set but he sensed that Fognini might find it tough to close out the set.
At his best, Fognini looks an impressive player and he was totally dominant once he got the early break until Andy held for 1-5. The tiebreak was extraordinary for the number of unforced errors from both players; just as one seemed so out of form that they were bound to lose the set, the other would keep the tiebreak alive with their own woeful errors.
I can think of plenty of good (i.e. non-suspect) reasons for putting money on Muzza to win from 0-5 down, especially when it was 0-5 down in the 1st set.
