Time and time again Andy's opponents fail to cover the backhand crosscourt pass - always amazes me.

Andy breaks on his 4th bp and leads 6-2, *1-0.

I don't know what feed betfair uses but did anyone hear that convo about Scotland? It annoys that people can't seem to understand that Scotland is not technically a country. Why don't people from Hawaii represent Hawaii LOL?

Andy has gone off the boil here and Djokovic leads *3-1. Is it just me or has the quality of Andy's serve gone backwards in recent months? It had started to become a real weapon.

thats not very fair tbh, speaking as some outside the iles, can i just explain how hard it is to understand what is what when it comes to the Great britain. and its even stranger when they have there own football teams, but technically correct scotland is not a nation, question answered.

Fair enough I suppose but it is annoying when a tennis commentator comes out with "why doesn't Andy represent Scotland?"

Andy breaks back to trail *4-5.

GSM Andy 6-2, 7-5 - 5 games on the bounce at the end and a well deserved victory.

As usual Andy does enough to get the W but I am concerned about the lack of bite in his serve those big banging aces out wide to the ad court do seem to have gone. Also concerned that his defensive tactics are not going to work when someone is on real form e.g. Verdasco in the Australian Open and over the course of five set matches.

Great first set....Nole was poor....tired / nervy start to set 2 but saved a SP and came back from 3-5* to win 4 games on the bounce.

So Andy is the first player this year to win 3 titles. I want more !!!

Excellent win for Muzza, that's three wins in four finals in the last five Masters Series events. biggrin

I've updated the race for the top three table at http://www.britishtennis.net/top4.htm?n=1, where you can see the points in detail, but I'll paste the graph in here since it's such a special occasion (probably Andy's biggest tournament win yet) - look how close it is on the graph now!

top4_15162_image001.gif

The overtake date if Andy can match Nole from now on would now be just three weeks away and beyond that, Andy would overtake Fed by the end of Wimby even if Fed scored 2000 more points than him between now and then.

Ranking points gained since the end of August:

6370 Muzza
5410 Fed
5205 Rafa
4570 Nole

I got a bit worried in that second set, I thought just maybe with playing right through Indian Wells as well he was running out of steam. But he came through!!!

Very well fought, Andy.

I like Tim Henman and always supported him...

Career titles for Tigger was 11.
Andy at 21 yrs old now has 11.
Greg got to 15.

Just shows the gap in ability.

I would be surprised if Andy didnt win a slam this year.
