not been a great trip for Hannah and Francesca really. Don't think they've picked up any points. Still a good experience no doubt...

Nicola's looks like she might struggle in the next round. She and Laura Slater seem to be sharing the same form book (Laura just lost to an unranked girl playing in her first tournament in the second round of a Grade 4 in the states - if she's over there looking for a college scholarship results like that won't help!)

Nicola did struggle, and she is down to join Laura over in the States for a Grade 1 tournament next week, on the back of 5 straight defeats, which doesn't augur well.

R2

Su Jeong Jang (KOR) d. (15) Nicola George (GBR) 7-6(3) 7-5
Shoko Yamamoto (JPN) d. (3) Hannah James (GBR) 6-2 6-3

A disappointing final tournament for Hannah J, in singles at least, but the tour has been a successful one, propelling her into the top 50

ugh - knew it was coming but still disappointing. She's played 17 events in the past year, and only got 6 scoring events.

I think she needs to drop down to G4's and even a couple of G5's. Current thinking not really paying off, although admidettly she's struggled in the G4's she's played of late too. Guess she's trying to get a bit of a run in one of these events to push for Wimbledon junior main draw?

Would really like to see her playing some 10k's.

Nicola may well have been aiming for the Wimbledon junior main draw earlier in the year, but she is now so far away that not even winning a Grade 1 event will get her there. Playing so many tournaments is not working for her (the majority are in the last 6 months), so I would have thought she would be better off concentrating on trying to improve the aspects of her game which are letting her down, away from competition and the stresses of travelling the globe for a while.

Doubles QF

BABOS (HUN) / JAMES (GBR) (1) d. HONG (KOR) / JUAN (TPE) (5) 6-4 6-3

SF

BABOS (HUN) / JAMES (GBR) (1) v EJDESGAARD (DEN) / HAAS (GER) (4)
