RE: Rotterdam R2: Andy vs Andreas Seppi (ITA)

Seppi to serve - 5-5

15-0 - bh return is wide
15-15 - fh from Seppi is dragged into the bottom of the net
15-30 - Murray works Seppi around and his defence is admirable, but eventually a fh is too good for him
30-30 - unreturnable serve
30-40 - Seppi goes long with a bh
Deuce - Murray puts a fh wide under no pressure having been in control of the point
Adv Murray - ANOTHER netcord from Seppi which Murray gets to and plays a good dropshot, and Seppi's lob is long
Game Murray - DF

Murray leads 6-5

Murray to serve - 6-5

15-0 - great work from Murray dominating with the fh and although Seppi hits a good dropshot, Murray gets it and hits the winner
30-0 - s/v from Murray and the fh volley is a winner
40-0 - bh return is wide
40-15 - Murray goes for the bh winner, but the net takes it wide
GSM Murray - short shot from Murray, but Seppi puts a simple fh long

Murray wins 7-6(4), 7-5

Murray didn't play well at all, but did the job to get the win as Seppi was pretty awful today, making far too many errors when it would have been easier to hit the ball in court.

Murray did enough though and moved Seppi around well and let him hang himself really by just keeping the ball in enough to make Seppi miss, and although his attacking play was often disappointing and made too many errors, he did at least win.

Gicquel tomorrow will be a different proposition with a different style of game, but shouldn't be too much of a problem, unless he plays worse than he did today.

thumbsup.gif A win is a win.

For the first set and a half, Andy looked as though he was wondering what to have for dinner tonight/what colour to paint his kitchen when he gets home/how his little dog is/ if his toenails need cutting. Then he remembered where he was and what he was supposed to be doing

Everyone has off days, Andy hugely less than most.

Hope though he starts showing some better form, starting with the quarter finals.

At least though we get to hear more from FD when Andy is not playing so well  biggrin
