Seems a bit scrappy so far - as far as I can tell from the livestream which keeps buffering!

Murray to serve at 2-2

0-15 fh goes wide after deep groundstroke by L
15-15 big fh return winner attempt goes wide
15-30 ooh L winner off return lovely angle little lucky maybe
30-30 bh return is wild
40-30 the trademark M shot of old bh dtl for a winner
Game Murray looped return is long

Murray leads 3-2*

Both players have really not got out of second gear yet. Andy needs to start hitting through the ball more and be more aggresive.

Can't get my live stream to work now although it hadn't worked all day before this match so not entirely unexpected. I think there is a real problem when it comes to playing videos on my computer.

Andy breaks in the first game of the second set, having taken the first set 6-3.

Ivan seems to be having a case of the serving yips laughing.gif

I couldn't post when it happened as I had an armful of cat. . .

It's catching. Andy puts in a poor serving game and hands Ivan a game! Leading 5-1* though.

Ivan rediscovers his serve, Andy to try serving for the match again at *5-2.

Ljubicic seems to be serving either aces or faults all the time!

Andy takes it 6-3 6-2.

To be honest he didn't have to do much, Ljubicic beat himself. It could well be much harder against Seppi. At least it is one round further than last year.

And a negative H2H levelled at 2 all thumbsup.gif

And a chance to do the same against Seppi.

Looks like a good win for Murray, although judging by the posts it doesn't look as if he had to do enough to win, and even survived his usual loss of serve when serving for the match first time around.

Still, can't complain with only dropping 5 games indoors to Ljubicic, regardless of how he played and the form he is in, and hopefully he's on course for a good week and to get some good points from an event that will probably end up counting for his ranking at the end of the season.

True, though of course there is still no information available on how the transition from no distinction between non-mandatory events to having to count four 500 tournaments is going to be phased in over the course of this year! For example, I very much doubt that those who go out in R1 here are going to have to start carrying a zero-pointer immediately.

Yes, I can't see it possibly applying immediately.  If so, presumably all these that could of, but didn't enter here, should have a zero pointer too.

I trust that the ATP do actually know how they are going to phase this in and will make this more widely known in their own good time  eyepopping.gif

Just as long as those who update the official rankings each week are in on the secret !

I would think the most sensible thing is that you don't need to count any while at least four possible "500"  tournaments remain this year, then you have to count one, two, three and finally four.

Then, from then on, four.

Since I agree with you about that, there's no way it will happen that way wink
