I spoke too soon - I'm glad to say! Come on, Laura!

Laura takes the tie break to love.
Laura 6-3 7-6(0) I wonder what was going through her mind in that 2nd set, very odd.

Closer than I expected, but at least Laura finished well

The Bogdan sisters seeded 2 and 4 have both been taken to three sets.

In Doubles

Laura/Orlik beat Hannah/Goldfeld 6-1 6-0
James lost 6-0 6-3

Got to say making the Juniors play in such heat is a dubious decision on part of organisers. If the likes of Djokovic can't handle it what chance have 14/15/16 year olds got?

L16: Silvia Njiric CRO vs Laura Robson GBR (5)
L16: Miyabi Inoue JPN vs Heather Watson GBR (9)

Laura is first up on court 21, should be about 11pm uk time. Followed on the same court by Heather. There is live text commentary on the BBC website, although they did pretty much ignore Heather last night!

QF: Anna Orlik(BLR)/Laura Robson(GBR)[5] vs Beatrice Gumulya(INA)/Noppawan Lertcheewakarn(THA)[2]

Third on court 19, these four are the last seeds left in their half.

Good chance for both to progress to the QF then.

I was just about to ask when was the last time we had 2 girls in a junior slam QF then i remembered Laura and Naomi B did it last year.

Didn't really fancy an early start tomorrow. I'm pretty shattered but I'll try and get to court 21 to give the girls some support.

I found this in the times -

I think it means Martijn Bok is probably still at the helm

"Sven Groeneveld, who guided Mary Pierce to grand-slam victory and now is responsible for helping out all players who have agreements to wear adidas clothing and shoes."

Thanks for the research JL to answer my question.

Heather beat Inoue quite comfortably in Nottinghill, so let's hope for a repeat. Laura's progress in doubles influences her being scheduled first in singles, when it is not quite as boiling hot.

Just had a look at the current weather conditions and it is 34 C already as of 9.30 local time. I wonder whether that will cause disruption to today's schedule.
