First up on Rod Laver, Tuesday. Yuk - a morning start for Andy. Hopefully even a half-awake Andy can see off Pavel, who hasn't played for nearly a year, without too much trouble.
The upside is that it is on at midnight UK time, on BBC 2.
They have only played each other once, in the US Open in 2005 which Andy won in 5 (the famous match where he chucked up all over the court!)

Yeah I think that match was summed up by the fact the Spanish commentators didn't even bother to turn up - there was an empty booth next to the BBC one!
I don't think it will be quite that bad, something like 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 to Murray I think.
The bookies seem to think the match will take 25-26 games, i.e. something like 3, 2 & 2 or 4, 2 & 2. I think Andy could do better than that if he really wanted to, but can he bothered?

For the benefit of the lazy people who havent woken up(!)
Pavel serving to start the match.
0-15: A deep, but otherwise unthreatening return of serve draws an immediate unforced error. 15-15 Pavel serves, and comes into the net. Murray fails to get to the drop shot. 30-15 40-15 returen of serve is long.wide. 40-30 Murray steps in and hits a drop shot, which he follows up with an easy volely putaway. DEUCE Pavel's forehand fails to clear the net. ADv Pavel: Not a great approach shot from the Romanian but he gets away with it and his volley is just in. GAme. Andy's backhand sails long.
