Great win for Andy. At one point in the second set I thought he'd missed his opportunity - but no - back he came, and in the end Rafa cracked. No slip-ups in the AO. Almost makes up for the Tykes getting beat in t'cup.
great start to the year for Murray, the fact that he beat numbers 2 and 1 in successive days should be a nice little confidence booster (and add to the fear factor for his opponents ). Contrary to my optimist reputation I'm currently having horrible flashbacks of a great first couple of weeks last year followed by that AO first round exit...
Oh and anyone after a giggle should check out the BBC live text for this match which I thoroughly enjoyed (as did my mum) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/7809314.stm

Yes, from the short clips I saw, he has again made real fitness progress.
Just watching a bit of play against Federer, he really for the first time struck me as a real man rather than just the kid really scrapping ( and scrapping hell of a well I might say ) for everything he could get. He just somehow had more presence. Maybe I was seeing more than was there, I don't know.
Hey, I thought that was just some exhibition tournament, but obviously it is highly rated. I've just seen that Andy has 7050 ranking points on the latest table
