i would have to disagree with these comments.

I think Ahmed has the same attitidue as many players in the fact hat he took a lot of things for granted i.e his place at roehampton!

I personally think that he got too big for his boots and thinks he is a lot better than he is!

never the less no one on here is denying that he isnt a good player

But many people have questioned this including his coaches

I think he could benefit from being in the presence of smeon like fitzy as could a lot of players!

I have to laugh at your comments, firstly fitzy is no where near as good as Ahmed & never will be, although dont get me wrong I like Fitzy he is a nice guy but tennis playing role model he is not.

I don't need to bring up old issues, you just need to take your mind back to previous allegations...do we really want our best juniors around people who get caught up in sorry episodes like that.? NO!!

Too big for his boots? Are you thinking of the same guy or what?? This could not be further from the truth!!! Regarding this being questioned by his coaches......rubbish!!

Thank you for your comments they were very entertaining & certainly made me laugh.

Seeker, completely agree with your comments..if only more people stuck to commenting on what they have sound knowledge on instead of what they think people want to read or what makes them seem in the know this site would attract not only more fans of tennis but also the players back to the site, but when they are reading random negative comments that are total rubbish & not true you can't blame them for not wanting to stay involved in debates etc on this site.
It is refreshing to hear the sound logic behind your thoughts as a tennis parent & good to know there are still normal people around who use this site.

Thank you!

yes and andrew has put those times behind him and obviously has nothing to hide.

Regarding Ahmed, rankings dont lie and it appears that Fitzy is obviously a lot higher ranked in the mens game, with much bigger weapons.

Regarding professionalism on and off the court im sure many on here would join me in the fact that he is up thre with the best which i think that players like ahmed could beneift from having the same mentall apporach to both training and matches

how how do you think ahmed can go this year ? it would be interesting to hear your thoughts

Right,where to start now....
This is my first post ever and ill make a good one don't you worry!
now to the subject (ahmed) personally i've seen ahmed few times in matches and training and off court e.g cinema with joss rae. and i'm not very impressed! for one he doesn't always try and secondly he has been heard to say, and i quote 'after i won under 16s masters i realised i was so much better than all the other 91s that i stopped trying in practice'. i do not think this displays the attitude of a professional. i do not wish to come to this site and just slag people off but when arguments arise in which players are unrightfully defended it comes to my attention that tennis followers with no idea (for example golden slam) will come away with the wrong perception of players such as ahmed. he is talented no doubt, but in tennis that does not get you very far these days.
completely off the subject but saw dan cox the other day, how is he going to make a world class tennis player at that height? almost mistook him for vernon off big brother! lol haahahaha

could not agree more with american boy.. spot on with your comments. Its good too see someone posting who has an insight aobut the game and what the players are actually doing!

Amercian boy do you feel that players such as Ahmed could benefit from being around players such as Fitzy?
it would be good to hear goldenslams opinion on where he thinks ahmed is at and regarding his potential.
when enquiring about Ahmed people have said to me quote ' he is **** and doesnt deserve to be at roehampton'

Does anyone know ehre he trains now as the last i heard he and chaudry and been chucked out of roehmapton

Listen Slammy. wink.gif

This is a messageboard. People have opinions. When I am a newspaper journalist I'll worry about being right and who I may upset etc. At the moment I'm shooting from the hip on a messageboard I'm a member of. If someone gives me an impression of themself I can mention it if I wish or keep it to myself. What I don't have to do is run it past you pending the notion it may be someone you know better. Write whatever you want to about me. I'm afraid your expectations of the etiquette you think we should all keep to don't match mine.

I've already apologised for the bit of my initial post that was "flagrant". And pointed to my positive opinion of the player in question. Plus, people on this board know better than to base their thoughts on anything I ever write.

So...

Get a grip and invest a little more time in your coaching rather than your messageboard police work.

Reading this thread reminds me why the junior section of the forum is the bit I visit the least. bleh

I didn't mind JL's comment that kind of started all this off, since it was genuine (whether or not it had any foundation) and intended to be balanced. Of course, it was also a generalisation waiting to be shot down, but he reacted in the right way when it was.

However, it seems to have since degenerated into a playground squabble with people trying to bring up young players' private lives and put in quotes they can't possibly substantiate, while F4T100 seemingly just can't help himself when he's given the opportunity to do a bit of stirring evileye (he's being sarcastic about Fitzy btw, Goldenslam - either that or he's changed the habit of a lifetime wink)

In my opinion (i.e. feel free to disagree), controversial comments and free speech = good (it's what messageboards are for - there's always been a distinction between what goes on the home page, which is more like real reporting, and what goes on in the forum, which is much freer) but personal attacks / unsubstantiated gossip about young players reported as fact that should be kept in the playground = bad. (there's always Facebook for that wink)

I don't know nearly as much about what's going on in junior tennis as some people on here, but if any of the mods who are a bit more clued up think some of the posts should be deleted, at least one other mod (me) won't be complaining if they go ahead and do it.

I don't think attacking a player due to their height is on really. It's not like Dan can do anything about it.

Oh dear another thread full of presumption, generalisations, apologies, winks and the odd **** !

Dont think I will delete any posts but folks dont get personal !

JL is right though....no-one takes any notice of what he says here LOL !

(Apologies in advance JL if my preceeding words have offended you in any way they were meant in a purely commical fashion only to bring a light hearted end to the previous 'tectchy' posts !).

Well done to young Alex for getting as far as he did by the way.
