Sounds as though the crowd want Roger to win!

"Groove is in the heart." We'll soon see if it is.

Andy serving to stay in the match.

15-00 A first serve!
15-15 Fed turns defence into attack and makes a good backhand winner.
30-15 Slower first serve, Fed misses his return
40-15 Nice forehand down the line from Murray, he sneaks in and plays a nice volley
40-30 Fed hits some very deep shots and Murray goes long
Game Murray Second serve sits up but Federer manages to blast it a mile long.
6-6 tie-break...

Fed leads 6-4 6-6. Tiebreak. Fed serves first, Murray's scores first, asteriskdenotes next server

*0-1
*1-1 Even rally, Fed skews it wide
2-1* Unreturned first serve
3-1* MB. Good first serve, but Fed skews his forehand
*3-2 Brilliant rally from both players. Murray eventually gets on top but the drop shot isn't perfect and Federer wins it from the net.
*3-3 MB break. Good return from Fed and he adjusts well from a net-cord to play a telling volley.
4-3* Murray comes in and plays a good volley
5-3* MB. Another long rally.  Murray had an earlier chance to win it but Fed eventually goes long
*6-3 MB(2). Great play from Murray. Works Federer into a corner but needs some more good volleying to win the point.

According to the commentators on Five live Sports Extra, they are clapping Andy's missed first serves. disbelief.gif

Set Murray. Return goes long. That's really good stuff from Andy. He's shaken off the demons and is now the man on the up.

Made it! Made hard work of that set, but Fed is fighting to stay in the tournament. 7-6(3).

I haven't heard them clapping the missed serves but there is a lot of noise, as there has been all week, whenever a player plays a bad first serve (i.e. hits the middle of the net or is out by a metre), or misses a first serve for, say, the fourth time in a row.

The Shanghai crowd's a little over-excitable. I still don't see why they find it so funny when a ball becomes stuck in the net...

"Do a little dance. Give a little love. Get down tonight." Fed's obliges by going flat out on his stomach and having a massage. We have a time-out!

Andy changes his top.  Doesn't exactly get the Nadal treatment from the crowd.

"Can you feel it?  Can you feel it? Can you feel it?" They seem to be going through the full range of injury time-out music - but Fed's back on his feet and ready to play.

Muzza to serve at 4-6 7-6 0-0

15-00 Murry runs Fed around
30-00 Fed comes to the net, Andy tries to pass on the run. Fed just gets it back in but Murray returns to the court to put away the winner
40-00 Ace
40-15 Muzza nets
Game Murray Serve volley, Fed nets.

Andy leads 1-0*

Fed serving at 0-1

15-00 Andy goes for the return winner but is way out
15-15 Fed survives early pressure but gains parity and storms the net. Murray plays a winner, though.
30-15 Poor return.
30-30 Again Murray fails to turn early dominance into a winner, but a good shot down the line is enough.
30-40 Fed should know he can't just play a smash and expect the point against Murray. Muzza gets it back and Fed isn't ready for it
Game Murray.  Muzza plays patiently and Fed nets, looking a bit troubled by his back.

Murray leads 2-0.

Murray serving at 2-0

15-00 Good first serve
30-00 Even better: ace
30-15 Murray looking to run Fed around but nets
30-30 Brilliant forehand from Fed off a deep Murray shot and a nice drop shot to win the point
30-40 Fed getting aggressive here. Storms the net and Murray should have done better with the attempted pass
Deuce Fed nets a returnable first serve
A.Muz Big first serve, Murray does everything right but Fed has a lucky net cord. Murray does well still to carve out a winner.
Game Murray. Fed nets a second serve.

Murray leads 3-0*

"Celebrate good times. Come on." Fed's back on his stomach at the changeover.  Time is called and Rog ambles over to serve at 0-3...

00-15 Roger's volleying lets him down.

Have to give Fed a lot of credit. Obviously not feeling that great but still giving his all. Having his back treated again and between games 2 and 3, he sat at the back of the court. Now flexing knees - really should just take a break till next year!
