ATP Paris Masters : QF - Andy v Nalbandian

So this is the first time they have met since that epic 5 setter at Andy's first Wimbledon.

I watched that whole match and even though he lost I knew then that he would make it !

Nalby has a habit of having very good late season runs....here is hoping that Andy can keep it going. I think Andy may lose a set but I still take Muzza to progress.

He's in ominously good form in Paris - demolished Juan Martín del Potro 4 & 0 this afternoon!  I, too, think Andy can avenge his Wimbledon 2005 defeat, however, probably in three sets, but it's going to be some tussle!

*  Pleased that the match is tomorrow afternoon, as I'm out tomorrow evening & wouldn't have wanted to head into the West End not knowing the fate of our hero! wink

Andy to lose..............

...a set .

Yes, I do think his 18 unbeaten set record is in serious danger from Nalbandian, who has taken on this late season I'm really quite bothered attitude again.  How much more, by the way, Nalby could and shoud have achieved.

It wouldn't amaze me if Andy lost this match, but I'm going to take him to win in 3.

I think this match is a step too far for Andy. I predict a close straight sets defeat and some welcome feet up time before Shanghai (which he'll win!)

Ditto. It's now two and half weeks with only the odd day without a competitive match. It has to be starting to take its toll. For Andy to make it through, he's going to have to dig very deep, especially mentally.

This match partially depends on which Nalbandian turns up - the one who played at the end of last year will possibly be too much for Murray, but the one who has played the majority of this year will give Murray an easy win.

I do think this may be a step too far for Murray, but wouldn't be too surprised if Murray did manage to beat Nalby

I think Andy will be able to beat Nalby, I think hes now a class above. I know Nalby likes it here, but I think its a different Andy.

Straight sets 7-5 6-3

Good luck Andy.

On an entirely unrelated side note, the Hoxton hotel are going to give away 500 hotel rooms for £1 at 12:00 today (exactly). I used their offer in August and it was really nice.

The best way is to use their non-flash link https://reservations.ihotelier.com/crs/step1.cfm?hotelid=13279&languageid=1 which not everyone knows about. They all go within a minute so you have to be speedy!
