Just back from the Masters. I managed to watch the Andy, Rafa, Fed, Roddick, Nalbandian and Jamie Murray matches on my 20 euro ticket - so I was quite happy to give the Davydenko game a miss in return for an early night.
Andy was very ordinary today, nothing particularly flashy. The setting of an old ice rink with three row of seats around it probably didn't help raise the quality. Verdasco was poor in the first set but both players served pretty well in the second and it was always heading for a 50:50 tie-break. I think Andy could have lost it had it gone to a third as he seems a bit jaded and wasn't 100% mentally - he resorted to swearing at himself and shouting at the umpire quite a lot.
