RE: St Petersburg Final: Andy v Andrey Golubev

Well, Golly did better than Nando yesterday - at least he got a breadstick not a bagel in the first set.

C'mon Andy, nice easy win so you are not too tired for Paris.

Golubev is not that bad a player given his ranking. I like his attacking game. Accuracy isn't always there but he has a go.

Lol, I can't help feeling just a teensy bit sorry for Golly. Lured into the net and passed like an express train.

Thanks to whoever it was gave that Sportbox link - best picture I've had all week!smile

Well I don't think Andy will be worn out after this tournament. If he'd skipped it, his training regime would probably have been more demanding this week!

Just as well you got the time difference right Madeline, the match lasted just under an hour so you'd have missed it all if you'd been out by an hour.

GSM Murray 6-1, 6-1 - 8th career ATP title.

Must be close to the record of the player to win a tournament while conceding the least games?

Quite right. I'm surprised. I would have expected one of his opponents to take down a tired and not particularly motivated Murray.

Have to revise my thoughts about his chances for Paris. Probably the favourite to win it!

Ea-sy!

Darn it, I didn't realise until the end that the sportbox link had sound. I don't speak russian but I do like to hear the sound of racquet on ball. Looks as though they are going to show the presentation.

Classy presentation.. =p

It sounds like they are using a mixed tape of soundtracks from American 1970's cop series..

The sound was in English!

Is this the most laboured presentation ever?
Andy may be worn out after this!

Andy is the first Brit to win ATP level titles in successive weeks for 33 years! smile.gif

Mark Cox won London then the Washington Indoor in March 1975, though the London event was only a 16 draw - life was way too easy back then. LOL
