As a top 4 player now, he will be due to play a player from seeds 5 to 8 in the quarter finals.
Nalby has an interesting section, with himself, Del Potro, Karlovic and Ancic in it, but ultimately Andy would have to only play at most one of them in the quarter finals.
I'd take Del Potro after he's had a long tiring 3 setter with Nalbandiian the previous evening
So many of his wins recently have been straightforward. I can imagine him struggling if two or three matches go deep into a third set but from an energy perspective, I think he should have enough left in the tank to win Paris.
If he wants it, I think another Masters title is there for the taking.
Be surprised if Murray makes it 3 tournaments in a row, as I just feel that the amount of tennis he has played is bound to catch up with him, but a lot of the wins have been so simple, and he'll probably have a Wednesday start, so will have time to recover.
It's not an easy draw as well, with plenty of dangers in the QF's, but if everything goes for him, then he could be looking at making history
So, Andy is defending 125 QF points here, and could potentially meet Baghdatis and Verdasco to face Nalby in the QF's this time, if he gets that far.
For the record, Nadal is defending 350 RU points, Federer 75 R16 points, and Djoko 35 R32 points.
Djoko's quarter looks as tough as Andy's. If he progresses he could meet Tursunov, Tsonga, and Roddick. Nadal and Federer have maybe got it slightly easier, but then they're the top 2 seeds so that's not unexpected.
As I indicated before, Rafa's draw does look particularly straightforward.
I would make the point that before the semis the exact same draw constraints apply to all of the top 4 seeds in what band of players they can play at each round.
Then at the semi final stage the seeding becomes : Nadal or Federer v Djokovic or Murray.
So really if Nadal or Federer appear to get it easier before the semis, then it is purely down to luck.
A bit like Sheddie you mean? (where is the old slacker anyway? )
The GEMs are dropping like flies - Llodra has dropped out too and Paul-Henri Chokieu has done what he does best against Igor, despite having a 2-0 record against him away from clay.
