Andy to lose in straights; 43% first serves in.

OK, Andy won both sets, with 42% of first serves out.  I couldn't have got that much more wrong.

Very impressive win, even though I barely saw any of it on the hopeless livestream.

Gulbis is a good player. To beat him by that score is stunning.

Don't anybody ask me how either of them played. It was my impression that Andy never needed to get out of 3rd or possibly 2nd gear, but what with distractions my end, fuzzy, constantly freezing livestream and occasionally freezing scoreboard. . .

Must be the cold Russian weather.

I'll get me coat. . .coat.gif

Much more straightforward than I expected. Wasn't sure Andy would give 100% this week but guess it's all good match practice. Another good win.

Easier than I though it was going to be. smile Wonder which Tipsy will turn up: the tennis player or the philosopher. confuse.gif You never quite know with him.wink

There goes my prediction of struggling through R1 and being beaten by Gulbis in 3.

Nice to be wrong.

Be that as it may, seeds are definitely an endangered species in St P this week:  the exits of Safin (8) & Youzhny (4) today mean that Andy (1) & Fernando Verdasco (3) are the only ones remaining! eyepopping.gif  Be afraid, be very afraid... evileye
