Think it's 50/50 now. Nadal's level is rising while Andy's dropped right at the start of the third set. I think the rain delay helps Andy to recover physically and hopefully he's got one good set left in him to clinch the win. The match seems to be on Murray's racquet but the forehand down the line has been hit and miss, lots of great ones but plenty dumped in the net too. Backhand crosscourt has just missed a few times but is a clear weapon. Shame he lost control of a couple of forehands at the start of the third set.
Those break points in the second set were so frustrating. Nadal played some good tennis to save 4 of them but Andy was careless on three of the opportunities, a nothing forehand that landed just wide, tried to attack a second serve but dumped it in the net (worth a go) and then the crazy forehand drop shot followed by a weak lob.
The number of aces has just been extraordinary. Liked the serve and volley play too and most of the time he's landed the forehand down the line as the first groundstroke when the opportunity has been there.
Nadal has been a bit careless on some of the key points, giving away his serve in the first with a wild forehand and then a poor backhand on set point in the second set tiebreak.
Thought Nadal looked jaded in the 1st set but then looked to be trying harder in the 2nd. Was very impressed by Andy surviving too bad fh errors when serving at 5-6, also impressed with him winning a tb against Nadal in a GS semi.
Very impressive performance whatever happens later/tomorrow.
I have just watched a replay of the second set on a CBS livestream. Where has Andy suddenly got that second serve from? It was kicking so high Rafa could hardly get a racquet on it most of the time.
It's a bit strange that they are going to play the rest of the match on Ashe. The commentators were saying that Armstrong plays a little quicker than Ashe, which was helping Andy. I hope they are wrong! On the other hand, he likes playing on Ashe, so. . .
great. if andy maked it to the final i will miss the start of it cuz i got class at 5 on monday. grrr. well lets take it one match at a time. hes still got some work ahead of him
