Just a fabulous, fabulous win. Could only watch on a less than 100% livestream so not quite so easy to see the quality of play and livescore was ahead of the stream, but the result was perfect. Well done for getting the job done in 4. Can't believe how good the serve has been - fingers crossed for more of the same. His mental stamina this tournament is outstanding.
Not at home so praying that I'll be permitted to choose the channel tonight or I'll have to rely on a neighbour's unsecured wifi. Can't believe there will be anything more exciting on another channel.
I think the comment - by Greg, I think - that Andy has "come of age" is spot on. What a performance. I have to admit that when he was broken in the 4th I thought it was game over but all credit to him for turning it around. Truly sensational tennis. Hope he can come to the Final as ready as is possible after last nights heroics.
I think the comment from Corretja that the "fitness will come" is very interesting and probably sums up the theory that the fitness is the one thing you can "manufacture" in a sportsperson whereas talent and natural athletic ability are innate and can only be "improve" on. No doubt that Andy is the most naturally talented tennis player. Cant wait for tonight.
Stunning performance from Murray, and practically everything was working for him, other than the break point conversion rate (which we'll ignore).
Nadal didn't play brilliantly (although yesterday he was a lot better than he was on Sunday) as he's still hitting the ball too short, but Murray did what he had to do to beat him with some excellent attacking tennis, focusing on the Nadal forehand which isn't a great defensive shot at all, and serving ridicoulously well (where was he found this serve from!!!)
He's definately up with the big 3 on a hard court now, and if he can play like that every time, then there's several slams with his name of it.
(p.s - can someone put something on the main page as I don't have access to the internet properly (i'm in the town library at the moment) and won't have the time to write anything up - doesn't have to be anything great just a brief article on Murray being in the final)
Fabulous win from Murray. I was on the edge of my seat with the heart racing wildly. What a performance. When a break down in the fourth set i was starting to think that the end was nigh. But, no panic from Murray, just calm composure and focus and a inner desire to win at all costs. Nadal may not have been totally on top form but was still a formidable opponent who made Murray really show his full range of shots.
Win or lose in the final Murray has moved up two or three gears this fortnight and to think he can still get better over the next few years.
