I've just woken up after watching the match last night and I'm very pleased to find out it wasn't just a dream!
You begin to wish that Andy could always play the last night match, and always against players he can motivate himself to play well against.
That was probably the best sustained display of power and sheer professionalism he's ever put on, the perfect way to celebrate almost certainly now getting into the top 5 of the rankings after the USO. (he will be in the top 5 now unless Kolya reaches the semis and Duckboy or Gonzo win the title)

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Looks like a great win for him, as even if Stan didn't play well, to beat him like that is a very impressive effort.
It makes you wonder why he can't play like this all the time, and how needless the struggles against Llodra and Melzer were, but as we all expected, once the tournament gets into the latter rounds he'd up his game.
He should beat Del Potro in the QF's, and a first GS semi final would be a great result out of the week, and with Nadal not at his best, he could well go on and reach the final
I'm sorry to have missed what appears to have been an excellent performance from Andy. Like many others, I wish he could achieve this level on more occasions. Hope he keeps his cool against Potty.
I wonder if, after this performance, we will still have to listen to Rusedski going on about what a bad idea it was to play in the doubles. Andy looked in peak condition last night, should be fine for the del Potro match and (all being well) will have 2 days off to prepare for the semi final. I would be astonished if by Saturday he is still feeling the effects of a few sets of doubles from a week ago.
.I have just got to an internet cafe to say I was there and what a pleasure it was.
Super atmosphere, I think a .New York .night match is made for Andy. It has tobe said also he rose magnificently to the occasion.
The only time I had slight doubts was about midway through .the third set .when he seemed to become a bit more conservative, coupled with wawrinka going after his second service.
.But overall the best performance I have seen om the tournament and I saw Nadal live on Momday and Djokovic and Federer on TV yesterday. I missed .Roddick.
Wawrinka pllayed not that bad, and very good in patches, but Andy seemed to be able to really turn it on .when it mattered, though hr was basically consistent throughout.
I felt lucky to be there to see such a performance, I .hope he is srill there on Saturday when I'm going to the semis .
