RE: Boys: US Open Juniors 2008.

Cox def. Cunha 5-7, 7-6(1), 6-4.

He almost blew it though in the end, as he went from 40-0 up to break point down at 3-4, broke in the next game, and then went from 40-15 up back to Deuce (and maybe even break point down) when he served for the match at 5-4.

Good win for him, as I thought he probably lose this, but a good chance to go on and reach the QF's and face Dmitrov now, as he's by far the best player left in his little section of the draw, and even in a junior event, it would be a bad sign if he lost in the next 2 rounds to a far inferior player.

Dan won the final set 6-4, saving a couple of break points at *3-4, then breaking serve and nearly wobbled when serving at *5-4, going 40-0 before being pegged back to deuce, but then won the next two points to clinch the match.

Pleased to be able to pop back having found out that DC won this particular match. clap.gif I have to admit to thinking, when I logged off, that he'd missed his chance. Good fighting spirit shown by him, well done. nod.gif

Shocked at Tomic's loss, as his opponent doesn't appear to have done anything special to suggest he could win.

Guess it was just a bad day for him.

They are the seeds but I think their opponents are the favourites. The topsy turvy world of junior rankings! smile.gif
