USO R2 - Murray v Llodra

So Murray plays the slightly ageing Frenchman Michael Llodra (27 yrs old)

Andy leads the H2H 1-0 with a straights sets win en-route to a loosing final appearance in Metz in 2007.

Andy should and will win this in straights to move onto 37-13 for the season so far.

Yes, I'm going to take Andy to win in staright sets as well.   Llodra started off the year really well, but his results over the last few months have not been as good.

Less of the "slightly aging" though for a 27 yo !!!!   speaking as slightly more aging member of the forum smile

I'm 27 and now I feel old cry

Anyway a slightly sterner test for Andy this round but it should be straight sets.

This is another match that Murray should win with ease. Defeat would be disastrous with his ability.

I always thought Llodra was a bit older than that tbh lol. Should be straight sets for Andy although there could be a tiebreak in there somewhere as Llodra has a pretty decent serve. If Andy sleepwalks he could lose a set, but I can't really see it happening.

I'd expect Andy to win this match, probably in straight sets, but with the courts as fast as they are, there's a chance that Llodra could steal a set in a TB or a lapse from Murray.

Llodra a decent player, but with game matches up perfectly with Murray's, so he shouldn't have too many problems beating him, but it won't be the walkover that the Roitman match was

Yes, I see a potential banana-skln in Llodra, but I think Andy has matured enough not to step on it.

People are saying Federer is getting on and getting slower, and he is a few months younger than Llodra, so I know what Drew means. . .

Hey! Llodra was born in May 1980, so he is actually 28. Definitely over the hill, then laughing.gif

Gawd, should Llodra really still be playing at that age ?!

Are the courts this year even faster than normal ?

Whatever, they certainly appear fast and that I see as only good for Andy.  I will take him to break service of anyone in a set, including big servers.  As I said in Cincinnati, with Karlovic, his reactions on service return I think are probably better than anyone's so he can nonplus big servers, and it probably increases his own chances of holding serve.

Also as the rally unfolds, his movement I think is getting better and better, and again his sheer tennis brain and reactions help.  I now think fast hardcourt is probably his best surface, as distinct to medium-fast, which I would maybe have said before.

Anyway, I'll stick with Andy in "starlight" smile

Where on earth did you find that, Tim? 5hours after your post, and I still can't find an OOP for tomorrow.

I hope it's wrong - 4pm here would be an 11am start there, and we all know about Andy and early starts. . .

I can't see anything either.  Seems far too early anyway for an OOP to be available for tomorrow.

Tm must have inside information  smile

PS :  Although it certainly won't be as early as implied by the Guardian correspondent who did a ful preview of today's match eyepopping.gif
