Semifinals -

Peter Ashley vs. Adam Glynn
Isaac Stoute vs. Joshua Sapwell

I am totally clueless about these guys, barring seeing the names of one or two in European tourneys. Anybody know much about them? Although 12 and under tennis for the boys mean almost nothing...

Eleanor Dean vs. Alice Keddie
Eden Silva vs. Katie Boulter

They are all scything through the fields, which is good to see as that means they're visibly better than the others (although we already know that Eleanor and Eden are European standard).

Dean has lost just 6 games so far...

Peter Ashley beat Adam Glynn by 6-3 6-1
Joshua Sapwell beat Isaac Stoute by 6-4 5-7 6-1

Eleanor Dean beat Alice Keddie by 6-2 6-2
Eden Silva beat Katie Boulter by 6-3 6-3

No shocks in the girls' final! I think Eleanor should win in straights tomorrow.

Sapwell won by 6-3 4-6 7-5.

Dean won by 6-0 6-3.

That's the sort of score I'd have expected from Dean around a month ago, although in the last few days I had been thinking that Silva would give her a decent match if they played.

Dean dropped just 13 games all week.

I know Josh as he started playing and having coaching at my club in Flitwick from the age of just 3! In fact, I saw him at Beds County presentation night last Friday. He left Flitwick when he was eight to go to a full time tennis academy in Letchworth, with home tutoring, and he's really shot up since then - he was a tiny kid but fascinating to watch being coached as he was so focussed, technically proficient and seemed to think well on the court. He also used to have some 'time off' coaching sessions when he'd play a little football with a tennis ball. Remind you of anyone yet?

Anyway, you can say that under 12 tennis doesn't count for much but this lad is from a very supportive family and is ambitious in his own tennis dreams so I have high hopes for him.

His coach now wants him to take part in European under 14 tournaments as he's nothing more to achieve in Britain at 12 and under level so I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for him. What's the best source to find out where he's playing next?
