seeding does include senior ranking. the order goes WTA ranking, ITF ranking then british ranking which is why joc and steph were ahead of heather, jenny ren and hannah james. If it had solely been done on ITF rankings, its would have been 1-heather 2-hannah 3-tara 4-steph with jocelyn not getting seaded at all.
Maybe they followed WTA then ITF ranking etc, but don't count anybody outside 1000? LOL Jennifer put up a good fight though, but didn't manage to take up her match point when 6-5 up in third.
Marcus and Dan haven't played each other for ages, which is slightly strange given how many times they have played in the same tournament.
They have met twice in international tournaments - both in the autumn of 2006. Cox won the first meeting by 6-3 4-6 6-4 and the second one by 6-4 6-3, although Willis picked up some kind of an injury in the second one (probably a stomach muscle pulled, if I remember correctly).
Cox is probably the favourite here, although Marcus can gain more (well, Cox can gain nothing) if he wins.
Hopefully they'll at least try to get Cox into New Haven qualies, but I doubt it.
Tara should beat Windley. I'd prefer it if Windley won it, even though I like Tara more.
Speaking of New Haven qualies, the cuts in the past have been -
2007: 810 2006: 827 2005: Unr
Tournament didn't exist before that.
So Cox will probably get in, especially as the main draw is far weaker than normal years because of the Olympics. But I'm not sure if he'll have enough time even if he leaves soon after the final, but a qualies wild card is a possibility, especially if the cut drops below 1000.
That must have been a tough match for the pair of them. i do hope that Tara takes the title to make up for the farce of her loosing though ranking points.
