Cincinnati Masters 2008 QF: Andy vs Carlos Moyá

The head-to-head stands at 1-0, Andy having beaten Carlos in straight sets (2 & 4) in the last 16 in Toronto two years ago.  He should be able to repeat the feat tomorrow.  That said, Moyá is enjoying something of a revival at the moment... clueless.gif

12 noon tomorrow on Center. Damn. A bit too early for Andy, and it will be bloomin' hot then as well.

After all his good work, it would be just wrong if he was to lose to Moya, who is having an awful year compared to last time, and this QF from him has come from nowhere!

Murray to win, even if he will be bothered by the early start (and as Moya played twice yesterday, putting him on first doesn't seem right)

At least Andy has played reasonably early, second match, in his other two rounds, and also experienced really hot conditions.  Plus, I think he's hopefully getting past the not woken up for early matches stage  smile

I was more surprised, as FD said, that they put Moya on so early again.  I thought at least second, because I could see the Nadal match being the night match, and then they'ed put the Djokovic match as the one before it.

Anyway, I think we can all see that Andy has a great opportunity here, and to reach the final and possibly play Nadal when the whole tennis world would be looking on as it is the match that could take Rafa to no 1, would be superb.

However, if it goes wrong, I hope folk are not too harsh on Andy ( unless his play is really silly ! ).  Almost anyone ( bar Nadal at the moment ) loses matches occasionally that they are expected to win.

I am so much more positive lately that he is going in the right direction.  That's 3 GS / MS quarter finals or better in a row ( only Nadal has been in the same 3 QFs ) so he is certainly making the mark now in compulsories that everyone wanted to see. If not after this week, then quite soon, he is quite llikely to be in the top 6 in the world rankings.

I do take Andy to beat Moya in straight sets ( but promise not to be too harsh if that doesn't happen smile )

Hi Folks,

First time poster...my enthusiasm for tennis has been rekindled by the boy Murray, who after watching in the last few weeks i feel really has what it takes for top 2/3 in the world.

There you go, kiss of death on him now......COME ON ANDY !

Better, but Moya looks up for this, possibly more than Murray at the moment.

KP and Colly seem to be having a lot of fun at the moment while batting - hope they both get hundreds!!!
