Yes, as Mad says, with the stagger in Canada and Cincinnati coimg off from last year, Andy will remain in 9th ( assuming Verdasco doesn't do anything silly ) unless he reaches the final.
If he reaches the final he overtakes Roddick AND Nalbandian AND Blake and goes 6th in the rankings !!
I knew this had a fair chance of happening once his 200 and 120 optionals went back on, but if he was to do it this week, combined with reaching his first ATP Masters Series, how good would that be !!
I see Federer has broken Karlovic in the second set, and is 4-2 up, so is probably going to take that to a third set. The winner of that match v Kohlschreiber is Andy's potential semi-final opponent.
Good to see that he finished the match off, and a nice easy progression into the QF's, where the draw is finally opening up nicely for him.
No reason for him not to reach the final here, as Andreev/Moya would be more tired that he is, and Karlovic or Kohlschrieber aren't exactly the kind of semi final opponent you dread (more like dream about)
Oh - and somebody buy Muzza a pair of jockeys that fit. He is getting worse than Rafa at knicker-picking, because he pulls front AND back.
I really did notice him pulling at the front today. I started to wonder if he had a groin problem !! But, yes I've seen it before, just seemed worse this time.
