Does anybody know why some players have stars against their points total? I have searched the the ITF website but it does not give any explanation (at least in alll the obvious places).
Robxon, they denote players who are eligible for a Year-End ranking.
Year-End rankings are different from year ending ranking (that is, just rankings at the end of the year). They follow the same system of points, but to be eligible, you need to play a certain number of events (three GAs and three G1s, I think, but not sure of this part).
Al Barnes is up to 191 and becomes the first 1991 and below player to get to the top 200. Hopefully he'll improve a bit more and get into the Australian Open.
