Weird tournament for Jessica. You can't say that she's playing bad tennis because she thrashed her first two opponents as badly as you possibly can but then this weird loss in the semis... When you struggle with consistency, you should always step up.
What is the story on the Rens? A few years ago they were untouchable in their own age group and the one above but now they seem to be slowing down their progress. That must be tough for them - very tough - as there must be a feeling they have either "plateaud" or "Hit a brick wall". i dont know enough about them but do know they were ultra-consistent as youngsters but do quesion whether they are really "natural" tennis players - both had pretty feeble serves considering their good ratings when I saw them play.
Saw her sister play sometimes ago, really nicely build - tall slim but with good muscles, serve really big, but seemed to me not enough concentration during play. I personally believe physical condition are very important in making impact on a player's tennis, maybe Jess is also dealing with her growing, hopefully once she's physically comparable with other top players, she can click on the tour.
Jen Ren must have changed since I saw her then as her serve looked very precise to me but not at all "big". I wonder if the Sisters are still keen on tennis - they have been playing it for so long it must be hard to keep the effort up now they have seen Robson eclipse them so convincingly
As long as they keep up there, they should! Yeah, I agree, most of the top 14 or 15 inc. Robson are doing full time tennis, I know the Sisters still do normal school when they are not travelling, it must be really hard.
Gonna put the cat among the pigeons and suggest that neither Ren is going to be as successful as their earlier sucess suggested. Just cant see them wanting to carry on unless they are doing really well as they are so used to doing well - didnt Jess win Orange Bowl - that it will be really tough mentally to carry on and not be Superstars
