RE: Toronto Masters 2008 QF: Andy Murray vs Novak Djokovic

Glad I stayed up now!

Djokovic is not playing well, but Andy is playing solid and doing particulary well on serve.

Set 2 - Djokovic to serve

0-15 - bh return is good and forces a bh error from Djokovic
15-15 - Murray fh is just long after he looked in control of the rally
30-15 - Djoko wins a bh slice rally as Murray goes long
30-30 - Djoko nets a half-volley after a stunning get and fh passing shot on the run... Djoko should have killed the point off beforehand though
30-40 - great deep return and Djoko fh goes wide
Game Murray - Djoko puts a fh volley wide but Murray shouldn't have been in the point at all

Murray leads 1-0

A set and a break up then... he's blown this lead against Djokovic before, but he's playing well enough/Djoko's bad enough to not do it today

Djokovic to serve - 2-2

0-15 - Djoko fh into the net during the rally under no real pressure
15-15 - return drifts long on a 2nd serve

Djoko's level has dipped again, and Murray takes advantage... Djoko's fh is dire today, while Murray is just doing enough to win the match - he's not playing brilliantly at all, which tells you about Djokovic's performance

Djokovic to serve - 2-4

The break would have ended the match... still a chance for Murray to choke though, but unless Djokovic raises his level he isn't going to win this match

6-6

Murray's score is on the left hand side

*1-0 - Djoko plays a Murrayesque dropshot that barely even reaches the net to gift Murray the MB
*1-1 - Murray in control of the point but puts a fh just long
2-1* - no idea, the stream froze...we'll say an unreturned serve as it didn't go for long
3-1* - both players run side to side with some great ballstriking, but Djoko shanks a fh in the end, where twice he had the point won but for a let chord
*4-1 - Djoko plays a shocking dropshot that almost misses the doubles court
*5-1 - Djoko does miss the doubles court with an inside out fh... if he loses this now, he'll never beat Djokovic!
6-1* - Djoko nets a fh as he tries to attack.... 5 match points for Murray, but the first 2 will be on Djokovic's serve
6-2* - fh return into the net
*6-3 - Djoko approach forces Murray to put a bh pass wide
GSM Murray - Djoko volley goes long

Murray wins 6-3, 7-6(3)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy, I grovel. I really did not expect you to win this match.

When Andy plays like that I remember why I started to support him.

Magnificent!!

And now I really must go to bed!
