I Need A Russian Speaker!

There's a Livescore link for the 16s Euro Champs in Moscow. jawdrop.gif

http://uaranktech.com/client/ftr/livescore/eurojunior/data/livescoreRUS.html

But it's in Russian, as you can see. Can anyone please tell me if they cover all the courts or just wherever there's a Russian playing? If they cover all the courts, how do you go to the other courts?

Maybe we'll get to know once play starts, but you never know, so help me if you can.

What an amazing page! It looks like they only do full graphics and stats for matches on Centre ( ), which I assume means Court 1, Court 6 and Court 9 for some reason, which might be linked to all the Russians seeming to have been scheduled to play on Court 6 today. You choose the court by clicking on it in the lower right quadrant, so who knows, it might offer more options later today, or one of the Brits might be on one of those courts at some points.

By clicking on the fourth (last) tab down on the left, you can get scores of all (completed) matches, though it brings up a box that you then need to close before you can do anything else.

The 3rd tab down on the left just gives you a list of the leaders in each stats categories, I think from only the matches on the three courts covered for stats.

On the first tab on the left, bottom left quadrant, the stats headings are:

Aces
1st serves in
2nd serves in
Aces on 1st serve
Aces on 2nd serve
Points won on 1st serve
Points won on 2nd serve
Double faults
Breakpoints converted (I love the way there's no word for break point in Russian, so they just transliterate the English word instead smile.gif)
= receiving points won

Hope that helps a bit ...

Oh typical, all the cyrillic characters get blanked out when I hit Post.

Still, a match has started now and it's all fairly self-explanatory. I wonder if they are only covering matches with Russians in them, because you'd think there'd be play on Centre and Court 9 too yet there are no stats from those courts.

Big help that is, thanks!

Yes, it is an unbelievable service for a Junior tourney and that too at 16 and unders! I wish we even had a basic service of updated scores after each set at our tournaments.

I think they're probably using this as a test tournament (and they do seem to be having a few teething problems) - hopefully it it works, we'll see it appearing on more tournament websites before too long.

Hopefully so! Maybe someday the Russian Challengers will have them, haha.
